Dear Spirals Families,
With the increasing awareness of the Covid-19 virus, we wanted to reach out to all our families with an update.
All Spirals classes and team practices will continue as scheduled. UCSB has approved Spirals to continue operations as normal at least through March.
Being that this is the height of cold and flu season, we want to remind all families of our illness policy. Please remain at home if your child is sick. We ask that they not return until he/she has been symptom free for at least 2 full days.
Spirals will relax our make up policy for our rec classes (non team) during this time (March-April). You may make up any missed classes for illness at a future date instead of just the single class. However, please be sure to call or email at least 24 hour prior to the class you’d like to join for make up to ensure there is room in the class.
We ask for everyone to give themselves a few extra minutes to wash (preferred) or sanitize their hands before and after class. Team girls will be given extra time between rotations to wash hands. We do have a small quantity of hand sanitizer at the gym, but as you know, it is hard to come by so if you have some, please bring it for your own personal use. Our Spirals staff will increase our mat/equipment wipe downs. But, per CDC recommendations, the best defense is frequent hand washing.
We will continue to re-evaluate as new information presents itself. Should the situation change, we will let everyone know as soon as possible.
Of course, if for any reason you feel the need to keep your child home, please call and let us know so we can log the absence for make-up classes.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please feel free to contact any of our staff or Board member with questions or concerns.
